About the Leeds Restaurant Association
Think of what Leeds is famous for and perhaps you’ll think of the city’s unbeatable shopping or of its success as a centre of law and finance. Or, maybe with a tinge of regret you’ll think of Leeds United’s wavering fortunes on and off the pitch. But what about food? Eating out may not be the first thing that springs to mind, but that is certainly changing.
Leeds Restaurant Association aims to promote Leeds as the UK’s ‘gastro city’. Night after night, hundreds of restaurants in the city serve thousands of happy customers both locals and visitors to the city with food representing the finest of British, French, Thai, Indian, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and many other cuisines.
To recognise the best that Leeds has to offer, Leeds Restaurant Association host the annual Leeds Restaurant Awards, a black-tie ceremony that is one of the city’s most high-profile events rewarding the very best in the industry.
The Core Aims of the LRA:
- To raise awareness of the eating out offer available in Leeds
- To provide a voice for all member restaurants
- To organise events that will raise the profile of Leeds as a premier gastronomic destination in the UK
- To be eligible to join the association the business must be trading with an LS postcode.
